He was hit while his father backed up in the driveway. He died during surgery at the hospital. He was one year old. I cannot describe to you the grief that our family is feeling from this unimaginable tragedy. The parents will not ask for anything at this time. However, we want them to be able to be with each other and their other children (9 & 12 year old) during this time without worrying about working, bills, and arrangements. Your donations are greatly appreciated. Please lift this family up in your prayers.
The heartbreaking story seems similar to that of five-year-old Harrison Sproule who was killed when he was pinned behind a truck his father Doug was parking at the family business in Picton, NSW. According to 7NEWS, the devastated father spoke at his son's funeral, “Dear Harry,” he began. “You came into this world as a wonderful surprise. You were a little hairy man, but you were a good baby. You lived your life to the fullest, full of adventure with your two brothers and big sister who loved you dearly.” He added how his son loved the trucks so much that he earned the nickname ‘Road Train Harry'. “Do you drive the road train Harry, the response was ‘yep, only in the dark’,” the father recalled. Doug shared with the news outlet how heartbroken and tormented he was about the tragic death of his young son. “It’s my job to protect them and I failed on this one,” Doug said of his children. "I fix problems every day, but I couldn’t fix this.”
