The baby monitor captured the sweet moment when the big brother stepped in to care for his sibling.
Taking care of a child is no easy task and for a mom of six like Gloria McIntosh, it obviously is six times as hard. The 36-year-old is often exhausted by the end of the day and one of her sons had noticed how tired she was. So when his baby brother woke up in the middle of the night at around 3.30 am 10-year-old Mason didn't want to disturb his mom. Instead, he took matters into his own hands and decided to step in and care for his sibling, 18-month-old Greyson.

"The baby woke up in the middle of the night," Gloria wrote in a viral TikTok that she posted in 2020. "I heard him fussing so I just checked the camera to see if he would just fall back asleep and saw his brother showing the best example of love and patience. He stayed with him for almost 30 minutes trying to get him back to sleep. I eventually came in and got the baby, and asked my son why he didn't just come and get me." The mom from Ohio wanted her children to get a full night's rest, however, she couldn't help but share the heartwarming reason Mason woke up in the first place. "He said he wanted me to get some rest because I did a lot that day," she explained. "While parenting is not his responsibility, just the fact that he understood that he is his brother's keeper, and considered my long day as a mom, is much appreciated "
The entire moment was captured on the baby monitor and just goes to show what kind of person Mason is when no one is watching. “I was smiling the whole time,” McIntosh, 36, told TODAY Parents. “He has a love for Greyson that is unspeakable. I can’t even really explain it.” The video shows the big brother caring so sweetly for his sibling, taking him out of the crib gently, playing with toys, wiping his nose, reading him a story, and eventually even climbing into the crib with him. The two spent at least 30 minutes together till the baby went back to sleep. McIntosh couldn't be prouder of the sweet boy she's raised who she calls "a natural caregiver." “I’m sure Mason was tired and cranky. He was woken up at 3 a.m.,” McIntosh explained. “But how you saw him treat his brother is how he is. He steps up." What a sweet story, indeed!
