For a short while, an Iranian Instagrammer who called herself Sahar Tabar, gained massive online fame for sharing pictures of herself. While this may not seem different from what most people do these days, in Sahar Tabar's case, the pictures she shared were drastically different from anything you normally see online.

With the help of makeup, photoshop, and several cosmetic surgeries, her facial features would look so pronounced and sometimes nightmarish. And they even reminded people of one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, which was that of Angelina Jolie. Despite altering herself and ending up looking so much like her, Sahar Tabar claims that her intention was never to look like the Hollywood megastar.

Before her extreme transformation, The Sun reports that she used to look like this.

But the looks that got her to the peak of her fame were some of the following.

The woman was later identified as Fatemeh Kh, who was a once-famous Instagram star, known as Sahar Tabar to her social media followers, as reported by CNN.

During her days of being an internet sensation, media outlets reported that she had gone under knife several times, taking her count of cosmetic surgeries up to 50. It was even reported that she only weight 88 pounds at the time.

However, when she gave an interview in 2017 to Sputnik, a Russian news agency, she claimed that it was partly makeup and also photoshop that accentuated her looks so much.

When asked if her photos on Instagram were real, she replied, "It is Photoshop and makeup. Every time I publish a photo I make my face more fun. It is my way of self expression, a kind of art. My followers know that this is not my real face."

She even listed out the surgeries that she had undergone as a teenager and said, "Rhinoplasty, Botox for lips and liposuction operations."

"I don’t see anything bad in this. It's simple and many people around the world do it. Here in Tehran the cost of one operation is 10 million Iranian rials ($283)," she went on to say.

Despite the striking resemblance to Angelina Jolie that even people in the many corners of the planet noticed, Sahar Tabar revealed that she never wanted to look like her. And her semi-nightmarish zombie looks weren't intended to look like the Corpse Bride either.

"I had no interest at all to be like Angelina Jolie, and I did not want to look like the character from 'Corpse Bride'. I understand that I do have some similarities with them, but I am my own muse and I did not want to look like anyone. That was not my aim," she told Sputnik.

But what followed her online fame was an arrest on the orders of Tehran's guidance court, which deals with "cultural crimes and social and moral corruption," as reported by abc.net.au. Her official Instagram account, @sahartabar_official was deactivated. However, several other social media accounts still have her old pictures posted.

Blasphemy, inciting violence, gaining income through inappropriate means and encouraging corruption among the young were the charges against her.

In October 2019, it was reported that she appeared on Iranian state television. The 22-year-old said, "I do not look like these photoshopped pictures right now."

She added, "My childhood dream was to be famous." Through her unrivaled looks, she managed to fulfill that dream.
