While attempting to shut down her boyfriend who blamed her for doing nothing, a TikTok mom recently stumbled upon fame. Many think that raising a good, honest member of society isn't that difficult a task. They often form an opinion about parents, especially mothers, simply sitting at home and doing nothing of importance. Surely, the opinions of others shouldn't matter, but what would you do when someone in your safe space feels that way? For user @sierra_not_ciara, this accusation was an opportunity to show her partner how parenting can be very rewarding but also quite laborious.
To do so, she shared a day's routine of her being a stay-at-home-mom on TikTok. "I just want to feel appreciated... 😞 so many things I didn’t even record," read the caption of the video which starts with the mother-of-two revealing that her boyfriend claims she does nothing all day while he works. Next, she shows how she does many chores around the house and takes care of the kids throughout the day. It's no secret that kids constantly demand their parent's attention especially when they are little. So, @sierra_not_ciara has to constantly tend to them, while cleaning, washing, and mopping the house in between.

Bathing, feeding, and clothing her kids were just a few additional tasks of her day. Towards the end of the video, she explained how she usually texts her boyfriend to know what he wants for dinner but on this particular evening, she decided to cut herself some slack by getting a drink and relaxing. Concluding the clip, the mother expressed her frustration towards men who don't appreciate women for all the work they put in. All she wanted to do with this video was to break the stereotype about stay-at-home moms and dads doing nothing all day at home.
The video resonated with many as it was viewed over 10 million times, per reports. However, it did make people lash out against the woman's boyfriend. Apparently, the man began receiving hateful messages about the whole thing and so @sierra_not_ciara had to step in and urge people to stop spewing hatred. She also cleared up that she only made the video after having a fight with her boyfriend and used it as a means to channel her frustrations. But noted that the situation had changed now and both were on good terms.
A moment's frustration or not, Sierra did begin an important conversation about all the parents who stay at home to care for the family. Just last year, another woman named Bridgette Anne shared a video discussing the assumptions people have about stay-at-home parents. "Everyone thinks being a stay at home mom full time is easy," she said according to reports. But "it’s f**king lonely and overwhelming." Next, she talks about the things that others are not aware of. "You forget what it means or feels like to be an individual; because your entire existence now revolves around that child," she said, adding, "Most of us [parents] don’t even have the luxury to cry and be frustrated in peace and when we do break down people question it."
