Cancer survivor gives birth to miracle baby at 2:22 a.m. on 2/22/2022 in delivery room no. 2

Here's a tale of twos. Several twos, in fact. Baby girl Judah Grace Spear was born to cancer survivor, Aberli Spear on Feb. 22, 2022 (22/02/2022), at 2:22 a.m. The date is also a palindrome, which is read the same way forward and backward. What's even more incredible is that the baby was born in the hospital's labor and delivery room No. 2. Baby Judah's arrival was a special moment for the North Carolina family. "Today is an extra special 'twos-day' for this newborn and her family!" Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday. "Judah Grace Spear was born on 2/22/22 at 2:22 a.m. at Alamance Regional Medical Center – in labor and delivery room 2!" Both mom and baby are currently doing well. 

New mom Aberli is a survivor of Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system that affects the body's ability to fight off infection. Aberli was told that due to her treatments, chances of having a baby with her partner, Hank Spear, would be slimmer. Typical treatment options for the disease include chemotherapy and radiation while Immunotherapy is also used in some cases. "Baby Judah is an answered prayer for her family," Cone Health wrote in their social media post. "Mom Aberli is a Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor, and the necessary cancer treatments she went through made pregnancy unlikely. But the family continued to pray for a little one – and today their prayer was answered! Judah Grace’s name fits her story perfectly. Judah means “praise” – and she is a blessing for her family! We are so happy for this sweet family! Happy birthday, Judah Grace!"

The baby's grandma, Kristi Engelbrecht told WFMY that Aberli's cancer battle lasted six years up until 2020. Aberli was diagnosed with cancer just three months after she had met her partner. "Judah is a reminder of all things good, God's promises kept, and a community pulling together for the good of one another," Engelbrecht shared. Mom Aberli added, "God's perfect timing; He never makes mistakes."
 

Feb. 22, 2022 is currently being referred to as "Twosday" by people on social media and the National Weather Service reports that the next time a "2/22/22" will occur on a Tuesday won't be until the year 2422—that's four centuries from now! "I heard all the nurses screaming in excitement and I was like, 'what is happening,'" Aberli said. "I looked at him and I was like, 'what time was she born?' He was like, '2:22,' and I was like, 'oh, okay!'" To the family, Judah's birth is special in more ways than one. "Her name means 'praise,'" Aberli said. "Judah, that's why we picked that name because I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma back in 2014 and we were told that we probably couldn't have kids."
