Princess Diana's close friend claims she never wanted to divorce Charles

After countless affair rumors, Princess Diana and Prince Charles parted ways leaving the world reeling in shock.

August 28 marked the 26th anniversary of Prince Charles and Diana's marriage, a bittersweet occasion that gave the world its unofficial Princess whose life ended unexpectedly. What began as a dreamy royal wedding between the two ended just a year before a car crash that killed the mother-of-two. After countless affair rumors, the two parted ways leaving the world reeling in shock. But the late princess's spiritual healer, Simone Simmons, claims that Diana didn't want to divorce Charles.

Simmons noted that after everything that had happened between the two, including the explosive Panorama interview, Diana still wanted to be Charles' wife. Apparantly, after the interview, she called Simmons and was "blubbering" the entire time. "The day afterwards? Yes," Simmons said of Diana's feelings of regret, according to Mirror. "Then, when the queen wrote to her and demanded they get a divorce, she was blubbering on the phone, and I went over to calm her down. She said, 'Simone, I never wanted to divorce Charles. I always loved him,'" she noted.

Simmons and Diana met in 1993 and although their friendship seemed unusual, they were best of friends who would speak on the phone "for hours." "Yes, I'm a very odd person for some people to think of as Diana's best friend. "But at least I'm honest, I'm sincere, and I would never put her wrong. I was very privileged to have such an amazing best friend," she said, as per The Telegraph

Following Diana's Panorama sit-down, Simmons' told Diana that she had made a "prat" of herself and the princess wholeheartedly agreed with it. "Oh God, you made a real prat out of yourself. But not only that — what about the children?" Simmons recalled saying. To this, Diana simply responded, "I didn't think." She went on the share her belief that Diana was indeed naive and "not emotionally developed." She would use her energy to focus on the good in people and wanted to bring harmony and unity to the world, something which is evidenced by her humanitarian work.
