The couple are parents to daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2.
It's not unusual for our favorite celebrities to announce their pregnancy in the most mysterious and interesting ways. After Katy Perry announced that she was all ready to welcome her first baby with actor Orlando Bloom in her music video Never Worn White, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have joined the league.
Legend revealed her wife's baby bump in his new song Wild, which released on Thursday. The beautiful couple embraced and displayed their love for each other in the entire video as they frolicked on the beach with their two kids Luna, 4, and Miles, 2, but in the end, they had a surprise for all their fans. Standing in front of the flowing beach water, Teigen put her hands on the tiny little baby bump hinting about their growing family, reported US Weekly.
Vevo also teased with the news on Twitter stating there was a "beautiful surprise" but the fans being the way they are, it did not take much time for them to understand the hint. They flooded the couple with best wishes and congratulations. According to People, Legend also went on to like a fan's tweet that read, "I am CRYING I love Chrissy and John so much this is AWESOME NEWS! Watch his new video...SO cute!!!!!!"
During the live chat on Youtube, the couple divulged on the beauty of witnessing their growing relationship through Legend's music videos. Teigen said, “We have 'All of Me,' the marriage, no kids yet. 'Love Me Now' with Luna and this one with Miles." Legend added, "It's been chronicling our family's growth and our journey and we're so happy that this video is the next chapter."
Legend and the Cravings author tied the knot in 2013. According to Elle, the couple met on the sets of the music video of his song Stereo. The model played his love interest in the video but Legend realized he wanted the same in real life. "At a certain point, you just realize you're happier being honest. You're happier being faithful and being in love with one person. At a certain point, I just decided that person was Chrissy. I decided I wasn't going to mess with somebody else anymore," said the Grammy winner adding that Teigen made his life "lighter."
The pair throughout these years has been very candid about their journey as a couple and parenthood, which they also admitted wasn't easy. Back in 2015, the supermodel-turned-TV host revealed that the couple had been trying to have kids, talking about her struggle with fertility. Teigen opened up about her struggle with fertility as well. She told ET Online, “I wanted to talk about it for so long. It didn’t feel right to ever tweet, ‘Ugh, doing my IVF shots again.’ It just sounded silly. It definitely was not planned in that episode at all.”
But they managed to overcome it together and welcomed their first child, daughter Luna the same year.
Two years later, the young mother also penned an emotional essay about her battle with postpartum depression after the birth of Luna, for Glamour. “I couldn’t figure out why I was so unhappy. I blamed it on being tired and possibly growing out of the role: ‘Maybe I’m just not a goofy person anymore. Maybe I’m just supposed to be a mom,'" she wrote.
John Legend also spoke about her wife's struggle but highlighted how the problems have only made their relationship stronger. “[Parenthood] deepens your love for your partner because you see them in a different light going through, in our case, the trouble of actually having a kid,” he told People.
“Then Chrissy’s going through postpartum depression. You just see different sides of that person, and if you go through it and you learn from it and you come out the other end better for it, then it deepens and strengthens your relationship," he added.
In 2018, the couple welcomes their second kid, son Miles through IVF. Teigen spoke to People and said, “For me, I just want to gather as many [embryos] as possible. I don’t want to do this again for the rest of my life,” she said at the time. “So it’d be nice to get a great batch of beautiful, perfect embryos and keep trying so we did it again.”
The couple also spoke about the "hard parts" of their marriage before announcing the news of baby no.3. People reported Teigen saying, "We have the same communication issues as other people," but revealed that being open about how they feel is what helps them resolve the issues. Legend added, "We grow together. We go to therapy and do all those things too," he added. "[We] try to take care of each other and be responsive to each other's needs."
