Curly eyelashes are here and this trend is freaking people out. Hear what the inventor has to say about it

This new look might give you the heebie-jeebies, but the inventor has a very valid reason for creating her extraordinary looks.

Trends come and go all the time, but sometimes they are so rare they leave a mark. Everyone loves long eyelashes that make our eyes look wider and prettier. But one make-up artist upped the eyelash game by inventing something unimagined. Instagrammer Sofie Petersen had invented curly eyelashes, an invention we have never before seen in the history of fashion.

The wacky extensions had stormed the internet and are still doing so. She loves making strange make-up trends that are not at all about beauty alone. "I want people to feel something when they see my beauty looks, whether it’s inspired or disgusted," Petersen told Dazed Digital in a recent interview. "I just kept finding random things in my room and trying to figure out how to create something cool with it on my face," she added.

From lettuce leaves to safety pins, Petersen has been using items we would never even imagine putting on our faces to create a look. The young make-up artist grew up in a Danish suburb, and the looks are an antithesis of what she saw while growing up since everyone looked the same. "I ended up feeling like there were expectations to the way I should look and it resulted in mental issues and very low confidence," she said.

She started by experimenting with glitter and colored eyeshadows, then she took the big plunge to further express herself. "Make-up got to be my therapy when I felt down. I finally reached a point where I just wanted to be 100% myself, even if it made me stand out," she added.

She wants to encourage more people to stand out. "What I want people to feel after visiting my Instagram,” she says, “is to be encouraged to just put whatever they want on their face and own it! Do whatever you want, you just have to feel awesome and be confident about it."

She had also created a look of blinging up the waterline of the eye. "I had this gold necklace that I no longer used and that day when I looked, I instantly got the idea when I saw it and the size and thickness were made for my waterline," as per Allure. Since she hadn't created a look in a while, she went all out on this one. "I cut a piece of the gold necklace that would fit with the length of my waterline," she explained. "Then I placed it in my waterline and I just had to be quick to take a picture," she added.

The make-up look creator also alerted people that they need to be careful about what they put in their eye and said that she's not always able to ascertain that for herself. "When I get an idea, it just goes so fast that I don't even manage to think about being a little careful before I have done the look," she said. "But, of course, I won't just put anything on my eyes."

When most people think of curly eyelashes, they just hope for big and long lashes that can be curled using a lash curler.  Like this one.

These are easy to curl up your eyes, and all you need for these are fake lashes if your own aren't long enough. Or, you could use a lash curler.

But she is not alone in trying out strange eye looks. There are many people who display their creativity on social media all the time.

If you love blue, this is a great look to try:
