Bullock gave it her all when she was married to James. The two were even caught in the midst of a lengthy and taxing custody battle with James's porn star ex-wife, Janine Lindemulder, for their then 5-year-old daughter, Sunny.
Sandra Bullock is one of the rare gems in Hollywood who has given us huge hits like The Proposal and Miss Congeniality. Contrary to her celebrity status, the 57-year-old has always remained tight-lipped about her personal life. That's why we didn't know much when Bullock began dating her now ex-husband until they made things official.
According to Closer Weekly, Bullock first met James in 2003. They quickly realized their feelings for each other and it didn't take long for them to take their relationship to the next level. The couple soon got married in 2005.
The newlywed couple enjoyed marital bliss for a while and the actress even credited her then-husband for her success. Unfortunately, her happiness was short-lived as accusations of James' infidelity would soon surface in 2010. Their marriage began falling apart as her husband was accused of having affairs with multiple women.
James allegedly had an 11-month affair with tattoo model Michelle McGee. Of course, Bullock could not take it any longer and eventually filed for a divorce. Following their separation, she adopted a son, Louis, as the actress struggled through one of the hardest phases of her life. James, on the other hand, moved on and remarried.
Bullock gave it her all when she was married to James. The two were even caught in the midst of a lengthy and taxing custody battle with James's porn star ex-wife, Janine Lindemulder, for their then 5-year-old daughter, Sunny, according to ABC News.
At that time, the girl's mother was in jail for tax evasion and Bullock did not hesitate to raise her as her own. However, when Lindemulder was released from prison she demanded custody of her daughter but Bullock argued it was not in Sunny's best interest to live with her mother.
As it turns out, the actress even wrote a letter to the judge where she shared how the little girl was left alone during the day while her mother was knocked out from drugs. Bullock also revealed that Sunny was the reason why she and James had decided to hold on having kids of their own.
"I am aware that Janine has claimed many times that my desire to have Sunny was because I could not have children of my own. As difficult as that is for me to hear, and write, it couldn't be farther from the truth. To share the joy of bringing another life into the world with Jesse is something that I desire very much," she wrote.
"But we realized that due to the instability in Sunny's life, bringing another child into the world at this time would not be in Sunny's best interest. So that is something we chose to put on hold," she continued. But her relationship with the girl's father came to end, and finally, she was able to be the mother she always dreamt of being after adopting Louis and later Laila in 2015.
Now, she considers herself a protective mother who has fallen in love with photographer and model Bryan Randall and is living her best life.
