The victims included twins Christy and Chelsea Cawley, eight, and their sister Lisa Cash, 18.
Andy Cash, a 24-year-old man, has been charged with the murder of his three siblings in their home. 18-year-old Lisa Cash, and twins eight-year-old Christy and Chelsea Cawley were found stabbed to death in Rossfield Avenue in Tallaght, Dublin, on Sunday, September 4. The children's mother Margaret Cash McDonagh broke down in tears at the vigil for her three children. The 40-year-old clutched onto a framed photo and couldn't stop crying. Margaret “Twink” Cash McDonagh was supported by family as they arrived at the vigil, reports The Sun.
Father Bill O’Shaughnessy told everyone who came into support them during this difficult time that “Tonight is just about a simple and gentle bit of prayer to remember three beautiful young people, Chelsea, Christy and Lisa, and to pray for each other in heavy and dark times that have hit this community and really just to be there for each other.” The family requested that everyone remember their "forever young, always loved" children. In a notice on RIP.ie, the children were to be remembered as "beloved and cherished sons and daughters" as well as "much loved brother and sisters." "Lisa, Chelsea and Christy will be forever loved and very sadly missed by their heartbroken family, grandparents Martin McDonagh, Martin and Mag, aunts, uncles, cousins, brother-in-law Michael, nephew Baby David, extended family and all their many friends."

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris told the Irish Mirror that support will be given to officers who attended the shocking scene. “It’s one of the worst incidents that I’ve heard of or come across in my service. We have put in place appropriate support for them, but we’d also acknowledge very much the trauma visited on the local community in terms of the shock of this incident and the subsequent grief. And that can’t be underestimated either,” he said.
