12-year-old boy leaves his dog outside shelter with a heartbreaking note

The boy, who identified himself only as Andrés, left his pitbull puppy along with a stuffed animal and touching note explaining his situation.

A 12-year-old boy decided to leave his puppy outside a shelter just to spare him the wrath of his abusive father. The boy, who identified himself only as Andrés, left his pitbull puppy along with a stuffed animal and touching note. When the shelter in the Mexican state of Michoacan discovered the pup and his belongings, they shared his story on its Facebook page.

"My name is Andrés and I am 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave my dog in your hands, hiding it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him. But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him," read the heartfelt plea of the young boy. "I left him a stuffed animal so he won’t forget me."

Right after the animal rescue group shared his story on social media, it went viral, according to CNN. People from all over the country put in their request (over 300) to adopt the pooch named Rene. Taking this opportunity, the group reminded everyone that there were 120 other dogs like Rene who were waiting to be welcomed into their forever homes.

"If everyone opened their heart and their home like this little dog, they would have adopted all our dogs from the shelter," wrote the rescuers. As for little Rene, the injured puppy was taken to the vet, dewormed, and was ready to set out on his road to recovery. Pitbulls are often misunderstood, even though they can be absolutely adorable.

Back in 2018, a pit bull pup named Sasha bravely rescued 7-month-old Masailah after a devastating fire began in her neighbor's home, we reported. Latana Chai remembers Sasha barking loudly and banging at their backyard door, a little before midnight. Now the 8-month-old dog had never behaved in this frantic and furious manner so naturally, Latana assumed that something had gone terribly wrong for her sweet, mild-mannered Sasha to be acting this way.

As the mom hurried down the stairs to open the back door of her Stockton, California home and check up on her pet, she saw thick, black fumes engulfed around angry flames pouring out of her neighbor's home. It didn't take long for the fire to spread to her four-plex home. She immediately darted inside to get her baby only to find Sasha already on it.

The pup was holding the child by the diaper as she dragged her off the bed, according to CBS News. It was the dog's courageous actions and quick thinking that helped save the family before most of their home was destroyed by the flames.
