Dolly Parton recreated her 1978 Playboy cover to surprise husband, Carl Thomas Dean for his birthday

The country musician was 32 when she appeared on Playboy's October cover in 1978 and last year, she expressed her desire to recreate it.

Dolly Parton has come up with a very special birthday gift for her husband Carl Thomas Dean's birthday. The Jolene singer revealed on Tuesday that she recreated her 1978 Playboy magazine cover in a new photoshoot for the 79-year-old, whom she's been married to for over five decades. Even at 75, Parton looked gorgeous as ever dressed in similar bunny ears, a black bustier, a pink bowtie, and matching gloves. She posted a video showing off her final looks on social media, according to PEOPLE

"You're probably wondering why I'm dressed like this. Well, it's for my husband's birthday," began the clip as she explained the reason behind her wearing the outfit. "Remember some time back I said I was gonna pose on Playboy magazine when I'm 75? Well, I'm 75 and they don't have a magazine anymore, but my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy." The 10-time Grammy winner continued, "I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy. He still thinks I'm a hot chick after 57 years and I'm not gonna try to talk him out of that."

Parton further said that she "had a cover made of the new Dolly" and joked that she was "kind of a little butterball" in the Playboy cover she had appeared previously. "Well, I'm string cheese now. But he'll probably be thinking I'm cream cheese, I hope," she joked, winking at the camera. The video concluded with the moment of truth when Parton surprised Dean with a side-by-side framed picture of her Playboy issue and the recreated iconic cover. "You think Playboy ought to pay for at least the photoshoot? I do!" she quipped.

The country musician was 32 when she appeared on Playboy's October cover in 1978. Just last year she opened up about recreating the decades-old picture while speaking to 60 Minutes Australia. "I don’t plan to retire. I just turned 74 and I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again," shared Parton according to Good Morning America. "See I did Playboy magazine years ago and I thought it'd be such a hoot if they'll go for it — I don't know if they will — if I could be on the cover again when I'm 75." When asked if she would pose in the same outfit that she wore during the original cover shoot years ago, Parton said, "Maybe!" She added, "I could probably use it. Boobs are still the same."

Parton tied the knot with Dean back in May 1966 when she was just 20 and he was 23. The love they share has survived the test of time and in 2015, she spoke about their long-lasting marriage. "They say that opposites attract, and it's true. We're completely opposite, but that's what makes it fun. I never know what he's gonna say or do. He's always surprising me," she said. "He's a deep person, but he has a great and warped sense of humor. He makes me laugh and entertains me. He's very secure within himself." Then in 2018, Parton told PEOPLE, "I always joke and laugh when people ask me what's the key to my long marriage and lasting love. I always say 'Stay gone!' and there's a lot of truth to that. I travel a lot, but we really enjoy each other when we're together and the little things we do."
