Gwen Stefani revealed that they feel "blessed" to have each other in their lives.

After five years of being together, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are happily engaged!

"Yes please!" said Stefani on her Instagram while Shelton wrote, "Thanks for saving my 2020... And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!"

The pair got engaged in Oklahoma, according to People. And the news of their engagement comes not long after Stefani, 51 gave an interview to Extra and spoke about how people are already referring to him as her husband.

"Do you know how many people say my 'husband' about him? I guess we’re just together... people got used to it or something like that, but it’s pretty cute," she said in the interview that came out towards the beginning of October. She had insisted that "he's not" her husband during the interview, but now, 44-year-old Shelton has taken on the new title of being her fiancé.

A few days before announcing their engagement, Stefani was asked by TODAY anchor, Hoda Kotb, "So, what’s happening with the wedding?"

"Oh, that’s a really good question," Stefani laughed and said. "Well, the good news is that we still like each other a lot. That’s good. I don’t know. We’ll see what happens, you know what I’m saying?"

When Shelton and Stefani started growing closer around half a decade ago, they were both reeling from divorces with their previous spouses. Shelton was divorcing Miranda Lambert and Stefani was splitting from Gavin Rossdale around the same time.

Going through similar experiences helped the singers connect and Shelton told People, "When you're where she and I were, and you just feel so betrayed and on bottom, this bond that we formed when we found out what each other were going through, it's still there."

Last year, a source also said about the couple, "They're still madly in love and beyond inseparable. Blake has wanted to take his time with marriage, but he is absolutely committed to Gwen. They both feel they've found their true partner in life and plan to be together forever."

With Gwen in his life, Shelton revealed that he feels like a changed man. "She's never not been supportive or a cheerleader, just the most encouraging person I've ever had in my life, on any level," Shelton gushed about her while speaking to ET in 2019. "It's unbelievable how supportive she is... I've learned a lot from her -- to not be so reactive as I used to be. She's definitely helped to calm me down, for sure."

On several occasions, Stefani has also raved about her partner and she even spoke about how good he is with her children from her previous relationship. "He is a good dad, actually," she told TODAY. "He’s been helping me out a lot, so I literally get to the point where I’m like, ‘You gotta get home, I need help.’ It’s hard. I got three boys."

Talking about their relationship, Stefani also said, "I just never thought in my wildest dreams, on paper, a cowboy and a ska-like girl from Anaheim would be hanging out, but it works perfect and we’re just having so much fun, and we just feel so blessed to be at this point in our lives."
