Social media influencer and mother-of-two, Caitlin Fladager, is no stranger to controversies. Every time the 26-year-old from Vancouver, Canada, is criticized for her choices as a parent, she doesn't hesitate to set the record straight and explain her side. Recently, she was shamed by netizens for wearing expensive brands of clothing and footwear while getting her kids cheaper clothes from places like Walmart. Just like every time, she decided to bring down those internet trolls by providing a solid explanation for her decision.

Taking to Facebook, the young mother explained, "Yes, my kids' clothes mostly come from Walmart, while I buy myself clothes from other stores. You know why? Because I am not constantly outgrowing them like my kids are." Continuing to blast the mom who criticized her, she said, "I am not constantly spilling food and dirt all over my brand new clothes. I am not outside running around in the dirt for hours on end. I am not tripping and ripping holes in brand-new clothes. I am not changing my mind daily about what color I have randomly decided I don’t want to wear ever again. I am not a kid."

According to The Sun, Fladager was not done yet as she went on to point out the kind of mother she is. "My children are messy, they love to play in the dirt, and they love to spill their food. I buy them cheaper clothes because I refuse to be the mom who yells at them for spilling a drop of ice cream on a brand new shirt," she explained. "I strive to be the mom who sees them spill, and says 'oh no big deal!' I strive to be the mom who sees them playing in the dirt, not caring that they are ruining a brand new outfit. I strive to be the mom who teaches them there is more to life than having nice, expensive clothes."

Next, she went on to reveal that just how happy her kids were wearing cheaper clothes as they didn't have to worry about spilling anything on them. Moreover, her children don't mind wearing clothes bought from Walmart. Alongside their strong post, the TikToker also shared pictures of her kids wearing their latest Walmart outfits and dripping ice cream on them. "When I look at this picture, it reminds me why I do that," she explained. "The dirt, the smiles, and the ice cream makes me way happier than a photo of them dressed in clothes they hate, that they will outgrow in a week."

The opinionated mother previously came under fire for admitting that she smokes weed when her kids are awake. "I wanted to take this time to talk about something that has helped me through this whole situation we are all going through. And that’s marijuana," she wrote explaining how it has actually helped her become a better mother, per The Sun. "Marijuana has so many other benefits besides the ones you see in the movies. It has helped me immensely with being a more patient mother, it has helped me gain the weight I needed to, and it has helped my insomniac self, get some well-needed sleep at night."

The famous Instagram influencer also pointed at Instagram posts about "moms chugging bottles of wine" to cope with the ongoing pandemic. "As soon as I mention I use marijuana to calm myself down after the kids are in bed, I still get those comments and DMs," she added. "I have smoked before when my kids are awake. No, that doesn’t make me a bad parent," she said explaining that it happened on rare occasions when she wanted to calm herself down. She mostly smokes pot after her kids are in bed and it's a night ritual that has helped her immensely.
