A Jack Russell terrier named Patron who sniffs out bombs has become a Ukrainian hero

Just last month Ukrainian officials revealed how the good boy helped neutralize almost 90 explosive devices since Russia's full-scale invasion began.

Although tiny, a Jack Russell terrier has proven his might by saving many lives in Ukraine. The 2-year-old pooch named Patron reportedly works with the State Emergency Service rescuers in the northern city of Chernihiv, where he helps residents by sniffing out Russian bombs, according to NPR.

Just last month Ukrainian officials revealed how the good boy helped neutralize almost 90 explosive devices since Russia's full-scale invasion began. "One day, Patron's story will be turned into a film, but for now, he is faithfully performing his professional duties," wrote Ukraine's Center for Strategic Communications in a tweet.

A video of the pooch ready for his day's work was also shared on Twitter. In this, he could be seen wearing a protective vest and walking around in the dirt to sniff out the hidden explosives. He has also been featured on the SES Facebook page which shared a different montage of him riding in the car, sniffing the devices laid out on the ground before posing for photos with the rescue personnel.

In a separate series of pictures recently shared by the agency, he could be seen carefully examining debris in a field before posing on an armored vehicle before enjoying the warm cuddles of a young child. Per the English translation of the post, Patron was referred to as "our pyrotechnic dog Patron, who is loved by both adults and children."

The adorable and brave dog has since won over the hearts of people across the world. The proof was shared by SES in an album that contained over a dozen illustrations of Patron that had been submitted by fans from all across the country. "Our brave baby Patron has inspired an incredible number of gifted artists," read the post.

"It motivates not to give up no matter how hard it is, to keep the bar high and to fight with new strength, knowing how many people are still waiting for help and how many people believe in us. Our Patron doesn't let his feet down either and sends his gratitude to everyone," continued the post.

The artworks feature Patron as a hero donning his trademark vest. One of them even shows his peeing on a Russian rocket, while another shows him towering benevolently over a city skyline. But there was one poignant drawing that offered two views of lives led by Patron. One showed the pooch hard at work in front of a charred high-rise and in the other half he could be seen standing in a grassy park next to a ball, something that he would have been doing if not for this war.
