Through the singer's 'On The JLo' newsletter, Lopez described the night of her wedding to Affleck as the "best night ever" and even mentioned her kids for being the "the best witnesses."
Jennifer Lopez is officially taken! The On the Floor singer tied the knot with Ben Affleck over the weekend and has since changed her last name. In a newsletter sent on Sunday, she signed off writing, "With love, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck," according to PEOPLE, which also reports that the 52-year-old plans to use Affleck's last name as her own.
Through the singer's 'On The JLo' newsletter, Lopez described the night of her wedding to Affleck as the "best night ever" and "the best possible wedding." She even mentioned their kids for being "the best witnesses."
"We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient. Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world," she revealed according to E Online.
The news of their marriage comes months after they announced their engagement this year. Affleck and Lopez first caught each other's attention in July 2002 and months after dating they got engaged in November the same year. While their wedding was set to be in September 2003, it was postponed and ultimately called off in January 2004. The Argo actor then began dating Gwyneth Paltrow and ultimately settled down with Jennifer Garner in 2015, reports US Weekly.
They welcomed daughters Violet and Seraphina and son Samuel but in 2015 they announced their separation. Following the end of his marriage to Garner, he told Good Morning America how he was looking for something meaningful. "I would love to have a relationship that was deeply meaningful and one to which I could be deeply committed," he told Diane Sawyer in February 2020.
The same year, he opened up about keeping in touch with his former fiance, Lopez. "She should have been nominated. She’s the real thing. I keep in touch periodically with her and have a lot of respect for her," Affleck told New York Times in February 2020 showing his support for her work in Hustlers. The Oscar-winning actor was then reportedly dating Ana De Armas but following their breakup, he found his way back to Lopez.
"Friends say they can see them staying together forever this time around. They are soulmates and always have been," revealed insiders according to US Weekly. Meanwhile, Lopez married Latin music superstar Marc Anthony in 2004 following her split from the Justice League star. They welcomed twins Max and Emme in 2008 but their marriage ended in 2011. She began dating Casper Smart following this but things ended for good in 2016.
In 2017 she started dating Alex Rodriguez and confirmed their romance soon after. The former Yankee popped the question in March 2019 but following a slew of cheating allegations, the pair called off their engagement in March 2021, according to Page Six. At this point, both Affleck and Lopez were single and it was the perfect time for them to rekindle their romance.
"They were right when they said, 'all you need is love.' We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to," she wrote in the newsletter, a day after marrying Affleck.
"Stick around long enough and maybe you'll find the best moment of your life in a drive-through in Las Vegas at twelve-thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive-through, with your kids and the one you'll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for," she added
