Keanu Reeves says he's "married under the eyes of God" to co-star Winona Ryder

"Once in a while, I'll get a text (from Ryder): 'Hello, husband,'" Reeves shared.

Keanu Reeves, in a very easygoing Keanu Reeves way, recently admitted that he might be married to co-star Winona Ryder, but he is not entirely sure.

Reeves spoke in a new interview with Esquire about previous statements he and Ryder made about being married on the set of the Francis Ford Coppola-directed film, Dracula.

"We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests," Reeves said about the 1992 film, according to USA TODAY. "So, I guess we're married under the eyes of God."

Back in 2018, the pair gave an interview with Entertainment Weekly, where Ryder spoke about her feelings on weddings and surprised Reeves with the possibility of them actually being married to each other.

"We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life," Ryder said.

“In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest,” the actress continued. "We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married."

Ryder also reminded Reeves that they even said their "I dos" by the end of the ceremony.

"We said yes?" Reeves asked.

"Don’t you remember that? It was on Valentine’s Day," Ryder said.

"Oh my gosh, we’re married," concluded Reeves, taking the revelation in stride.

On another occasion, Reeves said it took him a while before he accepted the fact that he might actually be married to Ryder.

"Once in a while, I'll get a text (from Ryder): 'Hello, husband,'" Reeves said in a 2019 appearance on The Talk, according to USA TODAY.

"I didn't really believe her, and then Francis Ford Coppola... contacted Winona and said publicly that, yeah, that actually happened," Reeves continued. "The priest did a full ceremony, and Winona and I got married."

When Ryder and Reeves reunited for the promotion of their movie, Destination Wedding, the actress told Entertainment Tonight, "He's one of my favorite people to work with" and "to be around."

"I feel the same way," Reeves said before gushing about Ryder's sense of humor and "beautiful soul" among other things.

"I had a pretty big healthy crush on him," Ryder also said in the same interview.

"I had a big, healthy crush on you too," Reeves added.

When the interviewer asked what happened to these "healthy" crushes, Reeves said, "Oh, it's still there" while Ryder quipped, "it’s still raging."

Another crush that Reeves has admitted having in the past is the one he had on his other famous co-star, Sandra Bullock.

Bullock recently spoke to Esquire about the idea of them dating and said, "Keanu’s a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he’s ever dated. I don’t think there’s anyone who has something horrible to say about him. So maybe we could have survived. I don’t know. But we didn’t have to survive anything. We just get to grow up together on parallel roads and tip our hats and meet for a dinner and try to work together. And the longer time goes on, the more in awe I am of the human being. Would I have been able to say that if he had dumped me and made me angry? Probably not."
