The pair is already parents to son Gus, 15 months
Mandy Moore is going to be a mom to a baby boy again! The This Is Us star revealed on Friday that she is pregnant, expecting a second son with husband Taylor Goldsmith. The pair became parents to their first son Gus, 15 months, in February 2021. The 38-year-old mom-to-be took to Instagram to share the news and wrote: One incredibly seminal chapter of my life just ended and the next one, as a mother of two, is about to start… and are we ever so deeply grateful and excited. Baby Boy Goldsmith #2 coming this fall! Tour is gonna be slightly different than I expected but I can’t wait and Gus is gonna be the BEST big brother!! Xo
The A Walk to Remember star has been honest with her followers about the ups and downs of parenting ever since her first baby. “Sometimes [I have] unrealistic expectations of what I should be able to do, and I’m trying not to carry that with me into motherhood,” Moore told her Instagram followers in a July 2021 Live, according to Page Six. “I just didn’t really recognize the worries, the fears, the sense of responsibility that is so ever present moving forward once you become a mom.” Last month, the Emmy nominee also talked about the joys of being a mom as she celebrated Mother's Day. "Being your mom is nothing short of the most rewarding and challenging job I'll ever have. I savor all of it because you are the greatest, Goose, AND it keeps getting better (as everyone told us)," she wrote alongside a series of photos of her with her little boy.
Music is an important part of the family with Taylor Goldsmith being a part of the band Dawes as well as Mandy Moore herself being a musician and actress. But what about little Gus? When asked if Gus has had an influence on her creativity the Tangled actress told Parents, "Not to sound cheesy, but all the clichés are true. Life is Technicolor now. It just makes sense in a way that it didn't before. I had no idea that this degree of love existed in the world. Yeah, it's going to change what I write about and, as an actor, what I'm able to access. I have a new color to bring to the table that I didn't have before. It's going to impact the choices I make when it comes to work. Everything is different now."
