He "looks like a Jackson, he can dance like a Jackson. This boy is a fantastic dancer — a matter of fact, he teaches dance."
Michael Jackson, the greatest pop star in the world led a life that sparked numerous controversies. His personal life was so mysterious that even his death could not put an end to the rumors. As a father, Michael was reportedly extremely protective of his children and often covered their faces in public. The world only caught a glimpse of them after his tragic death.
While the star is known to have only three children, Prince, Paris, and Blanket, the late singer's father claimed he had another son. According to ABC News, Joe Jackson said in 2009 that MJ had another son.
"Yes, I knew he had another son, yes I did," said Joe. His claims caught the attention of people who were still wondering about the mysterious man, who sat with the grieving Jackson family during Michael's funeral. Speaking of the boy named Omer Bhatti, Joe said he, "looks like a Jackson, he can dance like a Jackson. This boy is a fantastic dancer — a matter of fact, he teaches dance."
An interview given by Paris Jackson strengthened Joe's statements, according to USA Today. In an episode of the Facebook Watch series Unfiltered: Paris Jackson & Gabriel Glenn, Paris said both her elder brothers are her best friends. “Both of my older brothers are like my best friends. I love them so much"? said Paris. However, as per records Paris only has one older brother. Her words motivated many to think Bhatti belonged to the Jackson family. Bhatti also appeared in a video titled Meet Paris' Brothers along with his siblings.
Meanwhile, according to Cheat Sheet, Bhatti grew up with the Jackson children after his mother, Pia Bhatti was hired by the singer to take care of Prince. Bhatti claimed he raised Paris along with his mother and said, "She’s my little sister in every way."
The man from Tunisia moved to Neverland along with his mother and soon became a part of their family. As a child, Bhatti was very fond of the singer and tried to imitate him in every way possible. After he grew up, the King of Pop himself mentored him until he passed away.
Bhatti denied the claims made by Joe. "As a little kid, looking up to him, the way I did back then, it’s like everything that I saw, it’s like I was like a sponge, just taking up everything," said Bhatti, according to Amomama. He added, Michael "in a way, adopted him."
Meanwhile, reports about Bhatti getting a DNA test came out. At the time, Jermaine Jackson said that the family would welcome him if he was Michael's son. "We are going to give him the same love and care that we give Prince and Paris and Blanket. I can’t clearly say if he is Michael’s but I saw this kid around him," said Jermaine in a statement, according to Fabiosa. However, it is not known if the DNA test was actually conducted.
Bhatti reconfirmed that he shared a friendship with the singer. He said, “Michael is not my father. He and I were just very, very close. He was my best friend. Michael always used to say I was like a son to him but my true parents are here in Norway," according to Mirror. He also said that he was given a seat with the family during the funeral because of how close he was to Michael.
"The reason I was asked to sit with his family at the memorial service is because I was Michael’s closest friend – not because I am his son," said Bhatti. In fact, Michael's death had a huge impact on Bhatti.
He "was such a special person to me and I cannot believe he is gone, I am in total shock. I have lost weight because I cannot eat anything. All I can think about is Michael and how he died," said Bhatti to a friend.
