Rebel Wilson comes out, shares picture with girlfriend on Instagram

"Probably in my love life I was meant to be a late bloomer anyway," Wilson said.

Rebel Wilson, the Australian actress and comedian, came out as queer in a post on Instagram.

She posted a picture with her girlfriend, Ramona Agruma, with the caption, "I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess." She added the hashtag, "#loveislove" in her post.

A source close to the 42-year-old comedian informed PEOPLE, "Rebel's in an amazing place and I've never seen her happier." Agruma is a jewelry and fashion designer who founded Lemon Ve Limon, a sustainable and luxury fashion brand. She also founded the jewelry line DeLys and both her companies are based in the United States, per News Week

Wilson told PEOPLE last month that she met her new partner "through a friend" but she didn't reveal any information about the person. She said, "We spoke on the phone for weeks before meeting. And that was a really good way to get to know each other. It was a bit old-school in that sense—very romantic."

She further added, "I think going through the process of finding more self-worth, I think that what you want in a partner is elevated and so it's great to have someone who feels like an equal partner and be in a healthy relationship." She further compared her current relationship with her past, "There were times—I'm not saying with all my exes, they're great—but there were some times that I was probably putting up with that I shouldn't have. So it feels different to be in a really healthy relationship."

Wilson's last relationship was with Jacob Busch, from the family that founded the brewing company Anheuser-Busch. They broke up four months after making their relationship official on Instagram.

Wilson announced in November that she had decided to quit dating after a "Hot Girl Summer." She added that she "did date a few people over the summer and I had a really nice time. I'm currently single and looking for the right person. So we'll see." She further said, "From every relationship, you learn stuff all about yourself and what you're looking for. I haven't quite met my match just yet, but here's hoping."

In a previous interview with PEOPLE, she spoke of how she was a late bloomer, "I had a snaggle tooth. I was a catch if people really got to know me, but there was nobody really interested. But in a way that allowed me to not only have this amazing career and come up out of Australia, out of nowhere." She added that she got two degrees and came to America, leading to a successful career in Hollywood. She said that she wouldn't have been able to do it if she was in a serious relationship.

"Probably in my love life I was meant to be a late bloomer anyways." she said.
