Anna and Lucy DeCinque consider each other their soulmates.
Anna and Lucy DeCinque have been dubbed the world's most identical twins. They not only look like a photocopy of each other, but they might as well be the same person. The 35-year-old twins are inseparable and do everything together. They come as a unit and not only match and share clothes but even share a boyfriend. The sisters are now making waves again for revealing their unusual, eyebrow-raising habits yet again. They claim to have "separation anxiety" which means they cannot stay apart and have to even go to the toilet and shower together.
The twins are internet sensations who have a YouTube channel that has over 100k subscribers. They will now be featured on a reality show called Extreme Sisters that will air on TLC. The show will feature five pairs of women, including the DeCinque twins, who share unusual co-dependency bonds. “We think of each other as one person,” Lucy told the New York Post. “We can never be apart.” The sisters claim the longest they have been away from each other was when they both got breast implant surgery and Anna had to wait for an hour by herself as Lucy was being operated on. They consider each other as soulmates and their shared boyfriend, Ben Byrne their "fraternal twin."
“The first night we met him, we both kissed him,” said Anna about Byrne whom they connected with on Facebook with the help of a mutual friend. “It was great from the start. We just hit it off straight away. It’s so much easier for us to share a boyfriend. I don’t mind that he comes over to kiss Lucy, because then he’s going to kiss me. He treats us equally. He knows that whatever he does to one twin, he does to the other.” They have been together for almost a decade now. The three of them even sleep on the same super king-size bed together. They would both love to get married to him but polygamy is still against the law. The twins hope to one day even be able to get pregnant at the same time too.
“When she goes to the toilet, I come with her; when she has a shower, I come with her,” Anna explained about their synchronized habits. “You name it and we do it. We’re never apart. I don’t think we’d function without each other. We have separation anxiety. We’re bound to each other.” The twins have tried to be with different people before but none of them understood the bond they shared till they met Byrne. “Ben understands our bond and doesn’t judge us,” Lucy said. “That’s how it’s been from Day 1. There’s never been any jealousy. I don’t know how we had separate boyfriends. People can judge us how they like — this is how it works for us.”
The twins refuse to associate with people who criticize their unique lifestyle, especially since their friends and family are on board with the arrangement. “If you don’t accept it, you won’t be in our life,” said Lucy. “Anyone that meets us just knows that we want to live life as one person. [We] get internet trolls and haters online. People can have their opinions — but at the end of the day, we’re not hurting anyone. I am proud of this beautiful relationship.”
